We are (and always have been) wrapping alerts with a single line-break around 80 characters before queuing them for delivery. Most e-mail clients, such as Outlook, undo this wrapping by default by removing single line breaks when displaying plain text messages.

Please have your IT folks look into the settings on your side to see if something has changed recently. Outlook-released updates or a change to your software or security settings could being undoing Outlook’s automatic wrap feature.
